Lies

In Rochesters urban youth lies are often told to hide what some one is doing (most times when they are wrong or feel uncomfortable) or when they are hidding who they really are because it may make them seem un-cool or or not good enough for a certin group. So why are lies so common with the youth?

In the book Payback by  Paul Langan the main character Tyray often lies to his father and mother about  school, home, and what goes on in the streets . After a while the lies start catching up to him and his dad starts suspecting he is doing something wrong. In the end Tyray is caught up in so much that the only thing he think is right is actualy wrong. After relizing the mistakes he has made he must decide whether he wants to be like every one else that he knows or  change the way everyone looks at him. In the end Tyray knows the only thing to do is make the right choice and get all of the stress of his back by letting his parents know what he did .
